Mr & Mrs Smith in Manly has long been one of our fave 'go to' shops for everything from fashion to jewelry and homewares, so we were more than a bit excited to learn of their new venture Smith Made in neighbouring Balgowlah. Located in an industrial space that has been transformed by award winning architect Drew Heath into a cool and eclectic showroom, Smith Made features a rotating range of local and international designers curated by owners Nicole and David Dunbar. The store features an editorial concept, with distinct ‘rooms’ that visually integrate furniture and homewares, showcasing designers in an original and stylish way. Featured brands include MCM House, Bonnie and Neil, Dinosaur Designs, Bemboka and Fred International (plus loads of others) as well as a range of homewares, textiles and rugs personally sourced by Nicole and David. There’s also a large space dedicated to Pop & Scott, a fabulous Melbourne based furniture and homewares brand that we’re huge fans of.  Nicole and David have also incorporated a photographic studio and kitchen into the space, allowing them to host photo shoots, events and even introduce a small food offering down the track. Smith Made is an exciting new chapter for the clever duo behind Mr & Mrs Smith and their new offer is as quirky and cool as it is compelling. Definitely worth a squiz.
