Mel's gorgeous home on Sydney's lower north shore oozes understated style and elegance (much like she does). Originally from Melbourne, Mel and her husband completely reconfigured and transformed this federation house into a light filled family friendly home. They've retained period features but with a modern twist and it feels authentic, stylish and welcoming. The kitchen is clearly the heart of this home which is hardly surprising given Mel's background in almost all things "food." She's run her own catering company, works as a food stylist, has her own range of Xmas puddings and runs cooking classes from her kitchen. We sampled some of Mel's "Food envy"  puddings ... and wow ... they are absolutely sensational. She's been making puddings for 23 years and has developed a bit f a cult following. Needless to say her puddings always sell out so to get your hands on one you can visit Mel at her stall at the next two Mosman Markets (Saturday the 3rd and Thursday the 8th of December) or you can email her to order direct. Mel's recently launched cooking classes have also been a huge hit. She started with classes focussing on weekly meals ... for all of us who need some inspiration when it comes to groundhog Monday to Friday cooking. Her recipes are simple, healthy and interesting. Mel has more classes planned for next year, so follow her instagram account to keep up to date. Mel has that lovely combination of passion, talent and humility and both her home and business reflect this warmth.
