This weekend sees the opening of the 16th annual Artisans in the Gardens and if the pictures are anything to go by, it’s one not to miss. The exhibition showcases over 2500 artworks from both established and emerging artists. Everything from sculpture, ceramics, glass, jewelry and textiles, all available to purchase over the nine day exhibition with proceeds from the sale of works benefiting the work of Foundation and Friends of the Botanic Gardens. Curator Lucette Moore and her team have been especially on the lookout for something eye-catching and new, and have also selected many works with an ethical message or recycled element. “I can’t think of an exhibition that offers such a diverse range,” said Moore. The weather forecast for the weekend looks fabulous, so why not make a morning of it and do some early Christmas shopping at the same time.
